Welcome to Bert's Savage Club ! I know what you mean about the weather, I'm in SW Michigan, about 14" on the ground and cold at the moment. I store my machine in my house, and have fun doing winter teardown and cleanup while it snows outside. I just sat on it again, can't wait for April...See this site for LOTS of info, and I'd recommend you buy the Clymer Savage Manual for general maintenance/repair info. Lots of photos, lots of tips, lots of goodies. Go to Amazon.com and Search "LS650 Savage." About $30, money well spent. Though Savages haven't changed too much over the years, and the manual still is pretty accurate for modern models, this book actually covers the model-year of your bike. Anyway, have fun, enjoy your new bike, be careful !!
